This is a great set Alicia, I love the colours and there’s no need for forced writing, the images speak for themselves. I love shopping cart photos, I don’t know what it is about the carts but they turn up in all sorts of unusual places!
I love these images! There doesn’t always need to be a deeper meaning. Sometimes we put too much weight on that instead of simply enjoying the visual beauty.
Also, I am sure I would have liked to read your words, but I know what you mean, “blah, blah, blah - Who cares” is how I feel about my posts most of the time. :)
Thanks for your support! I do feel like I've gotten caught up in trying to "say" something. - By the way, I saved those blah, blah, blah paragraphs. They might materialize on a different post some day. ;)
I totally know what you mean and I think images are always great!! That’s the advantage we have as photographers, we don’t have to write something if we don’t want to. :)
I can't tell you how many times I say the same thing to myself! Sometimes it is just that the photos want to speak and that's ok! I like this set....and shopping carts :)
Indeed, just let the photos 'speak' their own truth is often enough, just letting them breathe and flourish in the viewer's imagination. Wordy descriptions or explanations the general theme are useful if it's relevant, but that's it. Sometimes, no words needed. An enjoyable set, just the pics on their own. Thanks for sharing.🙂
I enjoyed these, Alicia. Thanks for sharing. And maybe sometimes a photo is simply a celebration of the 1/125 or so of a second we happen to be in as we make it? And that seems ok to me.
I appreciate your honesty in this newsletter, Alicia. I’ve often felt the same way (“Who cares?!”) when I’ve contemplated topics for my own posts. That was one of the main reasons I started my “Quiet Reflections” series - to have a regular outlet for my photos that I don’t think need a story behind them.
I appreciate you letting the images speak — and I enjoyed what they had to say. 😉 Nice set.
Thank you! I’m glad they spoke to you!
Very relatable introduction :)
Sometimes we try to find meaning where there isn't and sometimes we downplay meaning when it is there
I like that shopping cart picture!
Thank you!
You're very welcome.
I'm always impressed by the great photography on here.
Substack is a great place to find wonderful photography.
Can’t disagree with that.

I’m surprised you experience the same. Your posts are always so well written and thought provoking.
Love the writing on this. Nice to know when I sometimes go through similar though process I am not alone. Nice photos also!
Glad you can commiserate.
Love these images! The hoop, the shopping cart, the goal!
Thank you!
