Project 365
2025 - Issue #23
At the end of July we took a little family trip to Big Bear Lake. Just for fun, I decided to bring a roll of LomoChrome Purple along. As I’d never shot it before, I didn’t really know what to expect other than some vibrant color shifts. This film is touted to give a look close to Kodak Aerochrome which is the much missed infrared color film. Although I don’t agree with the comparison, it did provide some interesting renditions of the natural world. - Will I use it again? Probably not. It seems a little gimmicky to me.
The following images were captured during an afternoon spent cruising around the lake by boat on July 31, 2025.
Thank you for reading!
Purple haze all in my eyes, don’t know if it’s day or night. You got me blowin’, blowin’ my mind. Is it tomorrow or just the end of time? - Jimi Hendrix

Well this is a fun new perspective on Big Bear Lake. Love seeing how folks use these lomo film stocks for different uses.
How interesting Alicia! I love that you chose Jimi Hendrix song at the end… We could've included Prince as well! It's a nice experiment. It also makes me want to go by a grape soda! I enjoy your experiments with different film stock.
